Using the Auto Dialer
The auto dialer (also called power dialer) helps you make outbound calls more efficiently by automatically dialing contacts in sequence.
What is the Auto Dialer?
Instead of manually dialing each contact:
- The system dials for you
- You talk to whoever answers
- When done, it automatically dials the next person
- Saves time between calls
Starting an Auto Dial Session
- Go to Manual Actions or your call queue
- Look for Start Auto Dialer or Power Dial
- Select which contacts or actions to include
- Click Start
How It Works
- First dial: System calls the first contact
- Connected: You speak with them
- Call ends: You hang up or they do
- Brief pause: A few seconds to catch your breath
- Next dial: Automatically calls the next contact
- Repeat: Until the list is complete
During an Auto Dial Session
While dialing, you can:
- Skip: Move to the next contact without calling
- Pause: Take a break without ending the session
- Stop: End the auto dial session
- Disposition: Mark the outcome of each call
Call Outcomes (Dispositions)
After each call, mark what happened:
- Answered - Interested
- Answered - Not Interested
- Answered - Call Back Later
- Voicemail
- No Answer
- Wrong Number
- Do Not Call
Best Practices
Preparation
- Have your script or talking points ready
- Know what you're offering/asking
- Have answers to common questions
During Calls
- Stay focused between calls
- Keep notes brief but useful
- Use consistent dispositions
Session Management
- Don't run too long (fatigue affects quality)
- Take breaks every 30-60 minutes
- End on a positive call if possible
Tips for Success
- Set a goal: Number of calls or connections
- Track metrics: Calls made, contacts reached, outcomes
- Improve scripts: Note what works and what doesn't
- Stay positive: Not everyone will answer or be interested
- Follow up: Schedule callbacks when needed
